A lot of “Pundits” scare you about the Doshas in your horoscope, and make you spend a lot of money when actually there is nothing to worry about. You may be surprised to know that the feared Kala Sarpa Dosha was not even mentioned by the Rishis like Parashara and Varahamihira! Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had this so called Kala Sarpa Dosha and went on to become the Prime Minister of India; during the dreaded Sadesati, Mrs. Indira Gandhi became a cabinet minister, and then Prime Minister of India; the much touted Mangala or Kuja Dosha is present in almost 50% people!! So don’t spend your life in the fear of the Doshas.

But the Doshas are there and they cannot be ignored altogether. You are intelligent, talented and hard working. A lot of astrologers have told you that you have a good horoscope with rajayogas. But in spite of all that things are not working out and either you are stagnating or having reversals in your undertakings. When this is happening it is usually an indication of some Doshas present.

The Rishis who wrote the Astro-classics have mentioned several of these Doshas and have given several remedial measures. A deep in-depth study of the horoscope is necessary to carefully analyse these and to prescribe the correct and authentic remedies. In most cases the remedies are simple reciting of Stotras or mantras. In other cases Poojas or Shanties are necessary. It is always advisable to check if any Doshas are present in a horoscope and get the remedies performed. Most of these remedies can be conveniently performed in most parts of India. What is birth time rectification?

Not many people are lucky enough to have their birth time recorded accurately up to the minute, they do not need to rectify their birth time. Exact birth time is necessary to fix the exact degrees of the natal Midheaven (Medium coli or Mc) and the Ascendant (Asc). These two cardinal points of the natal horoscope are often involved in our most important life events and they are needed in progressions and transits for forecasting life events. 

Rectification methods presented here are based on the theory of Primary Progression but in reversed manner. The first premise of primary progression is that natal bodies progress (move symbolically) forward and backward about one degree for each year of human life. In this way, when one of them throws direction (aspect) on a natal point (standing), then an event will be highly probable to take place. Exact timing of events and anticipating their nature is another problem. According to this method of rectification we pick important life event(s) and try to figure out that birth time which could have been the initiator of this event.  To conduct BT rectification, you need to know at least the date of one or few major life events. You must be equipped with some astrological knowledge to attribute which direction (progression aspect) to which event. Important life events which could bring positive or negative events are:  

Winning or inheriting some wealth or fortune. Distinguished promotions in business, work and even in education (higher degrees). Fortunate contract and very happy marriage. Life saving accidents and occasions. Big lottery wins. Unexpected and happy meetings and so on.  Among the negative events you may often find the date of one or both parents death. All dreadful accidents to the human body and the personal wealth and even those of the native's relatives.  Imprisonment and captivity. Financial losses. Conspiracy, humiliation and degradation and such alike. Change of place of resident can also be an important life event depending on its magnitude and consequence. 

If Native's father death took place at the age of twenty and in his nativity (birth horoscope) stood only one planet such as Saturn, Pluto, Uranus or even Jupiter some twenty degrees off the Midheaven (East or West), then it could well be involved in the rectification as a timing factor of this event.  The option of <Selected Planets and One Event> is the one for this kind of analysis. It tells you that if father’s death was to be associated with the conjunction of this planet with the Mc., then the native must have been bourn at the suggested hour and minute which fixes the natal Mc. on certain degree and second to coincide with the mentioned planet arrival to it at the time of the event. 

If you had more than one planet so close to be associated with one particular event and  you want to test all possible variants, then you may take the second option of BT rectification offered by the software.ALL Planets and One Event. The software will tell you what the birth time should have been if any of these planet had progressed to conjunct or oppose an Angle. In all cases you need sound astrological judgment to select the proper decision. 

Moreover, in case of wider analysis and you have many events. Let’s say one took place when the native was twenty as in the previously mentioned example of parent death. The second event was of positive nature; such as gaining high education degree at the age of twenty-five. The third event was also a good one. At the age of thirty when the native won valuable business contract. Let’s suppose that with each of the last two events, there were also sufficient positive primary directions, such as the Sun ruler of the ninth was some twenty five degrees below the horizon in the first house and Jupiter was thirty degrees below the horizon in the fifth house and Venues in the seventh.

Birth Chart Rectification and its  Importance :

Birth Chart Rectification is the process of taking apart a person’s birth chart based on known events in a person’s life so that the person’s birth time will be known.
We all know that in order to cast a complete natal chart, it requires an exact birth time. Though it is still okay to have only a person’s date of birth in casting an astrology chart, it is highly desirable to have on hand at least an approximate time of birth before attempting to interpret a person’s birth chart.
If the birth time is unknown or not recorded, astrologers sometimes will try to figure out the time of birth by studying the events in the person’s life and trying to harmonize their chronology with one of the possible charts for that day. This process is called birth chart rectification.
There are 5 Techniques on Birth Chart Rectification and they are as follows:
1.Employ Whole Sign Houses
Whole Sign Houses are more accurate in general practice and they are useful in the rectification process. The rectification process using whole sign houses becomes easy for it will be just a matter of determining the correct rising sign, then after that, all of the other houses fall into place. Since there is a striking difference between one rising sign and another, all of the planets move to different houses when the rising sign changes.
2.Understand the Concept of Benefic and Malefic Planets and Planetary Sect
These two concepts generate general thinking that the house placement of the malefic that is opposite to the sect of the chart will often point to the area of the native’s life in which they have some of their greatest challenges, hardships and even losses.
Otherwise, the house placement of the benefic that is of the sect in favor will often point towards the area of the native’s life in which things are the most fortunate, easy and stable.
Putting this in mind, you can look at each possible rising sign and compare where these two planets are located, and then compare this with the native’s chronology to see which placement seems to better reflect the most fortunate and unfortunate areas of the native’s life.
3.Compare the Ruler of the Ascendant in the Different Houses
This technique will work if the person has a particular time range already so that there can only be two or maybe three possible rising signs.
Remember that the house placement of the ruler of the ascendant often characterizes one of the major areas of life or topics that the native’s life is directed towards.  So if there are two possible rising signs in the chart that you are rectifying, then look to what house the ruler of the ascendant is in each, then ask the client which topic seems to be the more dominant one in their life. If one appear chiefly prominent, then you have narrowed down the correct rising sign.
4.Learn about Recent Outer Planet Transits
Learn about recent outer planet transits through the houses, particularly those of Saturn and Jupiter. We know that wherever Jupiter is transiting things are likely to expand, while wherever Saturn is transiting things are likely to contract.
